Palazzo Reale - piazza del Duomo 12, 20122 Milano
GUIDED TOUR BY INVITATION ONLY
A truly international exhibition, made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality of Milan and the Sicilian regional government, brings one of the 15th century’s most influential painters to Milan’s Palazzo Reale.
Only a fraction of Antonello's artistic output has survived to this day, and for this reason the 19 paintings on display in Milan represent an unmissable opportunity to admire the groundbreaking masterpieces of one of the greatest artistic innovators of all times. Certainly Antonello's most iconic work is the paintaing of Virgin Annunicate (c. 1475) housed in Palazzo Abatellis, Palermo, in which the Virgin turns her gaze and gestures towards a hidden presence, unseen in the painting, realizing the moment of the Annunciation. Among the works on display are the elegant St. Augustine, St. Jerome and St. Gregory the Great, also on loan from Palazzo Abattellis.
Drinks and refreshments will follow.
